Don't settle for just snorkeling one island. Island Ferry takes you to both Egmont Key and Shell Key islands for snorkeling.
At Egmont Key we take you to the sunken ruins for snorkeling. These were once 6 inch gun batteries, large fortified structures from where the 6 inch shells were fired. In the 80s, mother nature eroded the surrounding land, and the batteries fell into the Gulf. Its a great place to see tropical fish and other sea life as you snorkel in approximately 9 feet of water.
The snorkeling at Shell Key is fascinating, and its a great place to see starfish, rays, horseshoe crabs, and many different live shells, like conchs. With the waters only being 3 feet deep, its very family friendly for the younger snorkelers.
The photo below shows the sunken ruins, and also gives you an idea of how much of Egmont Key island has been taken by the Gulf erosion.
Come with us as we depart from St Pete Beach to Egmont Key for a half-day private snorkeling adventure. On this cruise you get plenty of fun family snorkeling. And if you are new to snorkeling, our crew will give you training and guidance on how to snorkel and have a great time.
